Although
Baltimore’s roots are as a port city and Towson as a residential
suburb, we shed that image long ago and have developed into a
thriving center of commerce. Towson is not fueled by a single
source economy and therefore is home to a wide variety of manufacturers,
distributors, financial advisors and service providers.
The world headquarters of Black and Decker tool makers and the Whiting Turner Construction Company are located in Towson. Many national and international corporations have regional offices here as well as local firms and entrepreneurs. In all, Towson boasts 4,100 businesses, 62,000 daytime employees and 4.7 million square feet of office space.
